For those who thought the AMD HD 7970 was too expensive, AMD has come out with a couple of versions that won’t cost the earth to gamers. These are the HD 7770 and HD 7750. Both come with the same 28nm GCN architecture, codenamed “Southern Islands,” though the codename both Radeon cards go by—“Cape Verde”—these islands aren’t exactly in the Southern hemisphere, but in the northern hemisphere! (some interesting geographical info for you!)
With a price point of $160 for HD 7770 GHz edition and $110 for 7750 these cards are going to compete not just with the 7970 heavily, but the older generation cards too, like the 6850, 6770, the 5770, and other such.
The HD 7770 GHz edition provides one HDMI, DVI-D, and two Display Port connectors, but one particular feature that stands out is that this card can simultaneously be connected to up to six video monitors! The 7750 has just one mini Display Port instead of the two that the 7770 has. The HD 7770 is clocked at 1 GHz while the 7750 at 800 MHz and both have a GDDR5 memory.
